Abstract
This lecture on Einstein's Relativity, delivered at Lawrence University on October 6, 2008, was designed for students and faculty in the college's Freshman Studies program. Freshman Studies, a multidisciplinary introduction to the liberal arts, has been the cornerstone of the Lawrence curriculum for over fifty years. The lecturer, Megan Pickett, is an Associate Professor of Physics at Lawrence. Professor Pickett holds a B.A. from Cornell University, and a M.A. and Ph.D from Indiana University--Bloomington. Her interests include computational astrophysics, origins of solar systems, stability and dynamics of fluid configurations, and star formation.
