Abstract

This lecture on Chuang Tzu's Basic Writings, delivered at Lawrence University on February 25, 2005, was designed for students and faculty in the college's Freshman Studies program. Freshman Studies, a multidisciplinary introduction to the liberal arts, has been the cornerstone of the Lawrence curriculum for over fifty years. The lecturer, Karen Carr, is professor of Religious Studies at Lawrence. She holds the Ph.D. from Stanford University and has published widely in the fields of 19th- and 20th-century religious thought and the philosophy of religion.
