Abstract
This lecture on Matt Ridley's The Agile Gene: How Nature Turns on Nurture, delivered at Lawrence University on March 2, 2009, was designed for students and faculty in the college's Freshman Studies program. Freshman Studies, a multidisciplinary introduction to the liberal arts, has been the cornerstone of the Lawrence curriculum for over fifty years. The lecturer, Nancy Wall, is Associate Dean of the Faculty and an Associate Professor of Biology.
