Artist Statement
The photographs in my exhibition are autobiographical. They show the narrative of my life both past and present.
I have created a background full of photos of me, my friends, and different things that I have captured over being in Wisconsin. Using Polaroid pictures gives a 90’s look that I have been attracted to; I like the colors that you see in the photos. All of the photos have a caption and date on them. I wanted to have a lot of photos just to show different sides or personalities of me. I feel like I show the realness of who I am as an artist.
During the opening, the video will be presented in the Wriston auditorium. The video will share a look into my life. I decided to have a video because I am a Youtuber that does videos constantly. Videoing or filming to me is another form of art being presented. I have always liked making videos and just showing them to viewers that are watching me.
I hope with this installation people can relate to my story through my art. That is what I want for my pictures to have a meaning and show the story of my life. Even with my video, I want people to recognize both the good and bad in life and memories.
