Artist Statement
The process of making art is my way to experience life. By telling stories through art, film, and installation, my voice leaves a trace on the world in its most compelling form, inviting the audiences to resonate with the work. As a daydreamer, I have created short film series to explore the truth in the perception of dreams (The Reality of Dream, Dream Rhapsody, Dream About the Truth). Dreaming is like watching a film, which both require the human perception of seeing and hearing without limitation of time and space. To explore the essence of the dream elements is to explore the essence of reality from an alternative perspective. I capture snippets from dreams, analyze the subconscious meaning behind the symbol, and reconstruct the vision into my installation art. I am eager to bring people into this dream journey. The combination of visual, sound, and environment in installation makes the art fully come alive, allowing the audiences to be involved by exploring all of the human sensations. When audiences discover the work, I hope they appreciate this perception of my world, experience the meaning of being alive, and ultimately pass on love to other individuals.
