I’ll write you a letter and ask how you are
I’ll send it off, no matter how far.
Thanks to all the carriers it gets on its way
and will find itself in your mailbox and maybe make your day.
Who knows when we last saw each other or even spoke on the phone,
when you read my words or I read yours we’ll feel connected,
and close to home.
It’s not always about the words I use or the questions that you ask
Sometimes it’s more about the sentiment.
It’s as simple as that.
This paper made me think of you, this card you painted just for me.
You look the time and the fifty-five cents and gave me something to hold physically.
Close to my heart now stuck to my soul
You’re thinking of me, or were in that moment
From the letter, this I know.
