Description
This installation exists in a moment in time, suspended in the feeling of anxiety from living in contradiction and transition. I started this school year thinking about the transition of childhood to adulthood, which then manifested into the exploration of the struggle to make art. The struggle to become an adult and the struggle to make art are not mutually exclusive and bleed into one another. This installation embodies both the negative and positive aspects of transformation and growth. Through crystallizing the space in gesso, this recreates the hanging stillness before action where one desires to take the first steps but is afraid to move forward.
