Artist Statement
“The discovery of the alphabet will create forgetfulness in the learners’ souls, because they will not use their memories; they will trust to the external written characters and not remember of themselves... You give your disciples not truth but only the semblance of truth; they will be heroes of many things, and will have learned nothing; they will appear to be omniscient and will generally know nothing.”
– Socrates, “Phaedrus”

This is about what you think it is and it is about what I meant. It is about what I will mean later and what I mean now. This is about the end which inevitably comes no matter how so you savor the present and the pull on the past. It is about expressing gratitude for its opportunity to start elsewhere with elsewho. It is not about finality, finity, or forlorn. This is about the end-win of work! the cap!
It is not a matter of the content which materializes it but the place the mind goes when sense relates to it. It is the heart and lungs; the wind which fills it and the space it takes up; the feet who hold the rest up; and it is this brain– (he who keeps signifying and readjusting to signify anew). And yes it is display, form- and meaning-ful. Yet can you find something new? The means to a perceived end?
