Abstract
International students may experience unique challenges while attending U.S. universities. However, social support relationships encourage institutional integration among international students, which in turn leads to retention within the institution. In research conducted at two colleges in the Midwest, findings indicated that peer relationships had a positive association with institutional integration. Pedagogical and co-curricular implications of the powerful peer relationships and recommendations will be discussed.
