Artist Statement
My goal with this piece is to make the viewer think about their physical and mental environment and how those environments influence who they are. You are a reflection of what you have experienced and those that surround you, a beautiful characteristic of humankind. The animated striations are made from stretched and tiled images of significant people in my life who have shaped me. Taking a trip through these glass-like tunnels, I encourage you to think of the components that make you who you are.
I want to thank John Garrett for his advice and expertise in animation. I would also like to thank my parents, James and Rebecca, for helping me assemble my structure.
