Artist Statement
Blooming in Shadow: The Invisibility of the Sublimation of Tragedy is an exploration of the way tragic events often leave us blind to the opportunities that bloom out of them. In this work I have chosen to create hope in unexpected ways. I create pieces that transcend verbal language and ignite the imagination with a spark of optimism. My work is intended to bring light to unexpectedly dark places.
Thank you to everyone who helped me understand this idea and who has been kind enough to share their inspiring stories and thoughts with me. I do not take it for granted.
