Artist Statement

This body of work is a tribute to the specific instances of life changing realization - to the many people, strangers, acquaintances, and friends, who, through their actions, caused me to reconsider my entire system of belief and view of the world. It speaks to a key component of my docterine: that fate throws many different people in our lives to help us learn the Truth of who we are. My series is both an exorcism of an almost crippling nostalgia of memories, both good and bad, as well as homage to all the ways I have changed because of those who have touched my life.

…And I saw that the embrace would never be enough, that the undying love would never be able to mask the hurt and bitterness poisoning them from the inside out. Unwilling to stay together and unable to leave, clinging together as the last united front against the cruelty of the world.
