Artist Statement
Copley: a Psychoanalysis is an experiential exploration of personal history. Through this installation, and the expected viewer involvement, I investigate modes of communication and build upon my interest in the tactile medium of book arts and the interactive nature of text. My intentionally vague symbolism is deeply personal, but allows the viewer to draw his or her own conclusions from the components and iconography. The tools that I use include the reframing of history, the destruction of artifacts, and the repurposing of quotidian objects.
