Artist Statement

This body of work is a tribute to the specific instances of life changing realization - to the many people, strangers, acquaintances, and friends, who, through their actions, caused me to reconsider my entire system of belief and view of the world. It speaks to a key component of my docterine: that fate throws many different people in our lives to help us learn the Truth of who we are. My series is both an exorcism of an almost crippling nostalgia of memories, both good and bad, as well as homage to all the ways I have changed because of those who have touched my life.

He stood there brandishing the pot lid. “I don’t care. If you go alone, you’ll get raped or killed. I won’t let you”

I am sorry, I am so sorry. I had a dream, and I just knew it. I called the police. I know you must hate me, and I am just so sorry. I hope one day you understand.
